Repair
At Walkers Tyres, tyres can usually be safely repaired
by using a special vulcanised plug patch which repairs
the tyre to the British standard BSAU/159.
Don’t ever let anyone else attempt to repair
your tyre to a lesser standard- it could be fatal.
Wheel Alignment
The delicate setting of your cars steering geometry
is easily upset ,causing rapid tyre wear. To avoid
this, Walkers recommend that you have the front wheel
alignment checked at least every 6 months.
Wheel Balance
To keep the tread in constant contact with the road,
the wheel and tyre have to be correctly balanced.
Wheel imbalance can lift the tyre from contact with
the road, causing problems with steering and breaking.
Damage to the suspension, wheel bearings and steering
components is unavoidable if this imbalance is left
unattended. As your safety is at state your Walkers
tyres technician will always check and adjust the
balance when a new tyre if fitted.
Valves
A faulty valve can lead to a dangerous failure of
the tyre at speed. Even a leaking valve can cause
under inflation, which will reduce the life of your
tyre by up to 25%. As it is impossible to replace
the valve without removing the tyre casing from the
wheel, Walkers recommend that the valves are replaced
every time a tyre is replaced.
